Reduction in Official Fees for Patents and Trademarks
According to the 2015 Act (revised Japanese Patent Act), official fees for Japanese patent and trademark applications/ patent and trademark registrations will be reduced as of April 1, 2016.
We recommend paying the fees on or after April 1, 2016 when payment due dates fall on or after April 1, 2016.
Regarding patent and trademark applications/registrations of which payment due dates fall on or after April 1, 2016, we will pay the fees on or after April 1st unless we receive your particular instructions, so that the reduced fees will be applied to those applications/registrations.
